Mawddach Valley

A wander up the Mawddach valley from Cymer Abbey to Ganllwyd and back.

I started at the car park near Cymer Abbey and the old Llanelltyd bridge, Pont Llanelltyd. I headed across the bridge and up through Llanelltyd. I followed a track out of the village and along the West side of the valley.

Patchwork of walls

Tyddyn Bach
Foot bridge near Berth-Lŵyd

I reached the beginning of Ganllwyd and crossed the A470 main road. I crossed Afon Mawddach on a footbridge. I looked for another footbridge and stepping stones over the river. I found the bridge but it was closed and the stones must have been under water. I headed back towards Dolgellau on the East side of the valley following the cycling routes 82.

Is there a gas pipe nearby?
